All Done!

Thank you so much for the prayers, the fasting, and all the encouragement!  We have had an amazingly peaceful day feeling of your strength and our Savior's love.

Whew! Twelve hours!  Brendan is all done with surgery and settled into the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit).  He has already identified that his socks are yellow (and he told me Lindsay would like them) and that his dad's shirt is blue plaid.  (We were told they would check his eyesight by identifying colors since seeing color is the first thing to go if there are problems.)  When we got down here to PICU, Brendan told us his head really hurts! He has also been rather nauseous.  So they have given him some anti-nausea medicine through his IV.  He told the nurse to push the medicine in slower because she was "making it bulge."

So he is talking and responding and even put his hand up to his head to see if he really had surgery this time and how much of his head was shaved.

I wasn't sure just how coherent he would be tonight, but when he was being bothered by the pulse/oxygen monitor on his finger, the nurse asked if he wanted it moved.  She told him he could pick any finger or toe to put it on, but that he had to keep it on.  He told her to put it on HER finger!

Tomorrow Brendan is off to get more MRI's.  Thanks again for all you are doing.  You are keeping us going!
