Moving Right Along. . .

Ready or not, things kept moving right along today.  Visits with the Heme/Onc team about upcoming radiation and chemo treatments and timing for moving to the Oncology floor.  Then talking with Jo, our social worker, about housing arrangements at the Ronald McDonald House and other options during radiation treatments.

Syd with neurosurgery showed up to take the drain out of Brendan's head.  Again, anticipation just about got the best of Brendan, but the nurse was right, it didn't really hurt, it just felt really weird!  And I could tell by Brendan's eyes that it felt really weird!  And I guess from the inside of his head, it sounded really weird too.  But it slipped right out.

Then, Rehab showed up  -- first occupational therapy, then the physical therapist, then the rehab coordinator.  Discussions went on about in-house treatment and which floor we would be on during rehab.

After a breakfast of french toast, and a piece of pizza, and half of a hamburger for lunch, Brendan was ready to get out of bed for a few minutes.
Whew! That was a lot of work.
Rehab brought a wheelchair for him to try out.
After a week of dark and quiet, Brendan actually watched a movie this afternoon.  The light and noise sensitivity has all but disappeared today.  The doctor said that it may return as they taper the steroids.
After all the effort of getting up and out of bed, he was ready for a break.
Time to rest, then we'll get up  again in a few hours.  This time for a wheelchair ride out of the room. Rehab begins. . .
