On Saturday, August 20th, 2016 Shaun, Landon, Sheldon, Shiloh, Shenla, and Sharik (Brendan's dad, brother, uncles, and aunt) participated in RC Willey's "Ride for the Kids" fundraiser in Syracuse, Utah. This was RC Willey's 3rd annual event to raise funds for Make-A-Wish. Their goal was to raise $15,000 which would grant 3 wishes for kids with life threatening illnesses.
From what I heard, they all had a great time together. (Of course, with Shiloh around I'm sure it was hard to ride and breathe -- he always keeps everyone laughing!)The ride took the bikers over the causeway and out to Antelope Island and back.
Their entry included breakfast, a swag bag, and lunch (donated by Chick-fil-a, Papa Murphy's and Texas Roadhouse).
It was great being able to participate in helping Make-A-Wish and raising funds that would benefit others the way it benefited our family. Brendan's MAW trip gave us memories for a lifetime! It was priceless.
Next week our family is providing dinner at the Ronald McDonald family room at the hospital. We are excited to help others the way we were helped. Here is information about what they do and how you can help: http://www.rmhcslc.org/ronald-mcdonald-family-room-in-primary-childrens-hospital/
There are lots of other ways to give back. We were asked by the doctors at Primary Children's Hospital to spread the word about donating platelets. Platelets only last a few days so they are in constant need. Here is information about donating platelets at ARUP. You can actually donate every 7 days. http://www.utahblood.org/blood-facts/donating-platelets.html
Of course, donating blood is great too!
Our eyes have been opened to many needs we were completely unaware of a year ago. There are so many wonderful people who give so much and help so many. We hope to see the needs of others around us and give back just a fraction of what we were given.

What are you planning for dinner at the Ronald McDonald room next week? I would like to help in some way-something.
