Precious Moments

Weekends are great!  And this weekend was a particularly good one for Brendan.  With all the ups and downs of day to day life with cancer, we have really learned to just appreciate all the precious moments as they come.  

Time with good friends and thoughtful givers, Fred and Laura Selman.

 Brendan with his 97-year-old Great-Grandma Dot.  Every moment with this amazing woman is precious.

 Brendan was excited to participate in the nativity at the family party.  Brooklyn wanted him to be a shepherd with her.  Aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins -- all precious gifts.

Remembering the birth of our Savior and his life is precious.

What does Brendan want for Christmas?  To be home with family on Christmas Day.

Today it was Aaron with the mask. (Try explaining to a 5 year old why he needs to wear a mask!)  He woke up with a croaky voice, and with Brendan's blood counts down this weekend, I get kind of a panicky feeling when any of the kids get sick.  Every healthy day is a precious one.  

 Yushi came over to show Brendan how to figure out his Rubik's cube. Friends are precious.  Time spent with friends is even more precious.

 Brendan enjoyed practicing a few songs with the guitar and ukulele. Creating fun memories with family and friends are precious moments.

A few months ago, I would not have treasured any of these moments the way I do now.  Putting a life in perspective changes the things that are important to us, and helps us to see their value.  I'm grateful for this lesson, and for all the precious moments in each day we have together.
