Keeping Brendan distracted became the name of the game today. Dave, his nurse, showed him how to make some cool flying machines with straws and circles of paper.
Vital checks, weight checks, and a sponge bath took another little bit of time.
(That's 65.78 lbs.-- I'm learning again how to convert kilos to pounds--something I was told in 6th grade we would need to know. . .)
Exercises before play . . .
How about a game of Battleship?
Time really started passing quickly when Sarah and Hunter came to visit. Brendan taught Hunter all about Veggie Tale's Silly Songs. As visiting hours came to an end, Brendan couldn't help starting a sock war with Sarah. Obviously, Brendan was feeling a whole lot better!
Throw in a "Shaun the Sheep" movie and Brendan managed to make it through another day at the hospital.

Post chemo fluids ended at 10 p.m. and they are "feeding" Brendan overnight. They want to see how his sodium levels do with food, so we will spend the night, run the food, and test sodium levels again in the morning. If all is well, then Brendan could be discharged tomorrow. Nausea hasn't been a problem (yet?) with this round of chemo. We are guardedly optimistic about how well he is doing after a rough week.

I have my fingers crossed🙏
