Home!

This was Brendan this morning when I mentioned it was time to get up and shower. . .
 . . .and the look --
It was hard finding something entertaining for him to do until the doctors came to tell him if he could be discharged today or not.
Word finally came that he could go home.  But he had to have another dose of antibiotics to tide him over another 24 hours, and he had to have all his discharge papers in order, and then they could de-access his port.  Well, all that took about 4 hours.  It was a long wait for Brendan.
But finally they let him peel the tape off and prepare to take out his port access.
Mitch asked him if he wanted to pull it out himself.  Brendan just looked at him like he was crazy and said, "Why would I want to do that?!"  So Mitch did it.
Finally, everything was done and it was time to head home!  It was all smiles after that.  Well, until we ran into slow traffic from Ogden to Brigham City.  But we eventually made it.  And dinner was delivered too, by great friends!  Thank you!
Brendan's ANC count was up to 1,000 today so we will definitely be back to the hospital on Friday for chemo -- round #5.  We're glad this was just a small bump in the road.
