Getting Ready to Wrap It Up

Maddy:  All right, back to the favorite children.
Kerry:  Last night, on the way home from Magic Kingdom, we called the Village and they had our dinner ready when we pulled into the villa at 10 p.m.  What a life!
Brendan enjoyed reading Rachel's blog post --he laughed and laughed!
In addition to delivering meals, the Village offers Express breakfasts so you can grab something to eat on the run.

Hmm... Aaron's got this breakfast thing down. Yummy? Absolutely! Healthy... Not so much.
Eating breakfast on our way to Animal Kingdom.

And... We're in!

Going on the African safari at the Animal Kingdom!
Going around the African safari was one of my favorite parts.
 (I can't remember what this one's called.)
 Hippos. . .
 Elephants. . .

 Giraffe. . .
 Cheetah. . .

 Rhinos. . .
 Lion. . .
We saw lots and lots of animals.  Glad we were told to get to the safari early in the day.
More exciting than lions and cheetahs, Aaron found a penny souvenir machine.  He's been finding and saving pennies all week.

He added another penny to his collection, a cheetah design.
And Brendan added another caricature to his collection.
Staying hydrated was definitely one of the hardest things to do.  Aaron helped Brendan out when he wasn't feeling well.

Brendan gets a wave -- even from unexpected leaf characters.

Brendan was anxious to leave the Animal Kingdom and get back to the villa.  His back was really hurting and he was really miserable in the heat.  So he slept and the rest of the kids headed to the pool.

Spending time at the pool! It felt good to cool off after such a hot day.

They serve ice cream at the pool too!

For the afternoon, Shaun took Maddy and Landon to Hollywood Studios.  Aaron stayed to play at the playground with Lindsay.  We were so busy keeping Brendan hydrated, we forgot to make sure Aaron was drinking.  The heat caught up to Aaron and it took 30 minutes of fluids and cold packs to get him feeling well again.

Landon, Dad, and I(Maddy) went to Hollywood Studios and went on a few of the rides there while the others stayed at the villa. We ended up going on Star Tours, a Toy Story ride, the Twilight Zone, Tower of Terror, and the Rock and Roller coaster.
We ended up getting back right before a crazy storm. I think that in all, today was a great way to finish up an amazing week. It's been such a great experience and I've enjoyed every second of it. If only we had another week!!!

  3. Stacey beat me to it :-) In Zambia we called the first antelope- Kudu. The cattle with huge horns are a type of Sanga cattle called Ankole-Watusi or Ankole Longhorn. So glad you got a taste of Africa. Awesome, isn't it? Hope all will be well for the trip home. Thanks for the adventure!
