Just Keep Swimming

Today was the opposite of yesterday.  Yesterday was go, go, go, and today was stay, stay, stay -- to the point that Brendan was downright bored.  Good thing Loren and Jamie came to play.

 We checked out a new game -- Ticket to Ride Europe.  It had some fun, new twists.

Pain was kind of up and down today.  So Brendan was up and down with it.

I was glad he was doing fine when it was time to go to see "Finding Dory."  Grandma had tickets for all the cousins tonight.  We enjoyed the movie and Rachel enjoyed being included as one of the "favorite" children.

 The things occupying my mind today have been 1) the comment the doctors again made to me that "children are not just small adults."  I had asked about certain conditions of metastatic bone cancer, and was told that pediatric cancer is very different.  Certain things that are often seen in adults are rarely seen in children.  It has made me reflect over and over that we are still in uncharted territory. . .

and 2) whether Brendan is well enough to attend Camp Hobe (camp for cancer kids and their siblings) next week.  I have been amazed after talking to the medical director at the camp and the doctors at Primary's how willing they are to make it happen if Brendan really wants to go.  What an incredible group of people out there that so willingly put their hearts out there every day to work with these "superhero" kids.
